Female Celebrity Style: Kota Wade
Wade is serving up Fairy Queen in this ensemble. I love the goddess floral crown and corset.
Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing weekend. I'm very excited to profile up & coming new artist Kota Wade. Wade is the lead singer of Bad Wolf. Moreover, some of you maybe familiar with her wildly popular YouTube channel SteamFaerie TV which in addition to featuring the lead singers band the channel also highlights her craftiness.
Can you believe this is a recycled thrift wedding gown Kota made for her band Bad Wolfs new video? This was a diy project that involved dye and spray paint. She also made the chandelier in the background!!
Wade is a chameleon, she's also a member of Jc Chasez's band Girl Radical. What I admire most about Wade is that besides having an angelic voice she's genuinely creative. She designs not only her own cloths but the bands as well!! Check out the recent wardrobe tutorial she did with her band for the latest music video Drowning Beautiful . Kota Wade's animated harajuku fairy style is her own but she's makes awesome diy videos that demonstrate even if your on a tight budget a little creativity can create one of a kind looks. Now that's what I call true haute contour Kota!
Wade has described her style as "steam punk-fairy". I love this animated effect that I'm getting from both pics. Its reminds me of harajuku fashion.

Shoe Porn du Jour - Camper + Bernhard Willhelm = The Himalayan
I love Artists & Personality & Sense of Humor & Fashion, so I love the designer Bernhard Willhelm: who has all of these things.
For Bernhard's Spring/Summer 2014 Lookbook, he exclusively used "Seasoned and Mature" models like these two...
and you just have to go to his website right now, so you can see the lady from this photo above gesticulating for the camera, it's so awesome. (click here)
Look at this dude werq this knit cap...
This jogging suit with a black lacquer panther? Yes please.
And this matched His/Hers set? Yes I want this for Stonewash and I.
So when I saw these shoes, I was like HELLZ YES. I love the interesting spacey shape. It looks like footwear conceived for the biome of Tatooine.
AND THEN Bernhard and Camper did a collabo on the shoe with Opening Ceremony and things really flew OFF THA CHAINZ. I love this skiing dino print above. Holy Lord. (click here to buy)
Here's one of the girl pairs above, I think these are just so cool. I'd style them with dark wash skinnies.
They also come in some pretty tame solid colors, of which I thought, "Why the Hell?"
Like these black ones.... Borophyll
They kind of remind me of Fluevogs, remember those?
This is how they look on the foot...
This styling is super chic. I really like this parachute pant with the Camper Himalayan shoe and the ironic visor. I love it.
The way this guy paired his Camper Himalayas with this super boring outfit makes him look like a hipster that failed to get admitted to a Lower East Side dive bar.
It's akin to the way hipsters sometimes get some giant 90s Reebok Pumps and wear them with "painted-on" skinnies and a cardigan. No me gusta.
I like this shoe, but I really think it's go to be paired well, and the look needs to be new and fresh, not something we've seen before. it's like reinventing the wheel.
goodspeed my friends.
Book Review: The Marlowe Papers by Ros Barber
Synopsis: On May 30th, 1593, a celebrated young playwright was killed in a tavern brawl in London.
That, at least, was the official version. Now let Christopher Marlowe tell you the truth: that his 'death' was an elaborate ruse to avoid his being hanged for heresy; that he was spirited across the channel to live on in lonely exile, longing for his true love and pining for the damp streets of London; that he continued to write plays and poetry, hiding behind the name of a colourless man from Stratford — one William Shakespeare.
Pages: 407
Rating: 6/10
Overall: The Marlowe Papers is challenging but ultimately rewarding read that makes you questions the official history of Shakespeare. It has a shaky start (no pun intended) but finds its feet eventually. Compelling and suspenseful, if slightly confusing to begin with.

Wednesday Inspiration: Audrey Hepburn
"The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years."

Products that Keep the Hair Moisturize During Fall & Winter
Happy Tuesday!
As we head into the cold months of the year its a necessity for everyone to retain moisture in our hair. Chaacoca's line of organic shampoo and conditioner is infused with 100% argan oil straight from Morocco. Its gets even better as these products are color safe and the sulfate free shampoo detangles as it gently cleanses the hair and scalp.
These products are premium quality and not made with ingredients that clean the floor. Added bonus is you can use the famous argan oil on your skin for optimum pampering and beauty treatment. Remember ladies only the best ingredients especially for you hair. Cheap shampoo dry's the hair because of its high levels of sodium sulfate aka salt, yes salt and that's another story in its self. So this season treat yourself to moisturize shiney, hair and skin.

Top Ten Tuesday - Character Names I Love
It's been a while, what with RL taking up too much time... BUT it is that time of the week again! Top Ten Tuesday hosted by those lovely people over at The Broke and the Bookish.
Names can tell you so much about the character before a single word of description has been read. It's like the cover of a book for each individual character, where a snap judgment is made, to be proved or disproved as the story unfolds. So here is my list of Top Ten Character Names I Love in particular order:
Names can tell you so much about the character before a single word of description has been read. It's like the cover of a book for each individual character, where a snap judgment is made, to be proved or disproved as the story unfolds. So here is my list of Top Ten Character Names I Love in particular order:
- Augustus Waters (TFiOS) - Augustus suits the character perfectly. Augustus comes across as grandiose and a bit full of himself, but as Gus, he is a warm, funny, loving boyfriend to Hazel, and who is fully aware of his own fragility.
- Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore (HP) - Albus Dumbledore is a majestic name that fits the perception of Dumbledore held by most of the Wizarding community. Also his lovely mix of middle names almost give a story of Dumbledore on their own. Particularly Brian, which makes you think of the little twinkle in Dumbledore's eye, and his mischievous streak.
- Sirius Black (HP) - When Sirius is revealed to be the Big Bad for PoA, you're going to accept that as fact with a name like that. The sly sounding first name and, well, Black = obvious baddy. This made the reveal that he was actually good even more dramatic.
- Étienne St. Clair (AatFK) - The mystery surrounding his first name added a nice touch to the romance. And the name Étienne just created oodles of swoon factor... French and British?? Like the best of both worlds!
- Dolores Umbridge (HP) - I mean, come on, there was no way she was gonna be a nice character with a name like that. Such a great character name.
- Zaphod Beedlebrox (H2G2) - Completely insane and resplendent in equal measure. Just like the character.
- Fitzwilliam Darcy (P&P) - Just the name conjures up, well, good thoughts... Also, a great excuse for a picture of the best Mr. Darcy around, right?
- Xenophilius Lovegood (HP) - A brilliant name for such a quirky character. Fits like a glove as Xenophilius is so accepting of the weird and wonderful. And it starts with an X, so...
- Katniss Everdeen (THG) - She sounds tough just from her name, like a cat hissing a warning, and protecting.
- Dobby (HP) - Well, we named the dog after him so this has a special meaning. (It really fits a dog, by the way.)
I really enjoyed this Top Ten Tuesday. As you can see, most of my names came from one particular series... bet you can't guess! Yeah... I could have done the whole list on Harry Potter, but I restrained myself to just half the list!
Let me know what you think to my choices, and a link (if you have one) to your own TTT so I can go and have a look!

Foundation Innovation of the Century!! Sephora + Pantone Color IQ
Finding the right foundation for your skintone is more difficult than finding a husband. I swear. I still haven't discovered a foundation that matches me well. I mean, I walk around looking like this:
Some dudes are into that. It's called "contrast face", get with it.
Just kidding. In actuality EVERY SINGLE DAY i PAINSTAKINGLY mix a custom combo of:
- Eucerin spf 30 face lotion
- some Bare Minerals Finishing Veil
- and a generous *smack* of Chanel loose powder
- Sometimes I throw in some Touche Eclat or actual L'Oreal foundation (a drop)
I used to wear Dr. Jart+ BB cream, which I liked for awhile, but then it started feeling too heavy.
Then today I read about this. It's called *SEPHORA + PANTONE COLOR IQ*
It's like that thing at Home Depot where you go up to this machine and bring a swatch from your Husband's most beautiful man-thong so you can paint your dining room walls the same color.
So they stick this thing up to your face:
and then the computer kicks out a tone number courtesy of Pantone Color Universe (which is my favorite organization on Earth) so you have a SPECIFIC color code number.
Not just "sand beige" because you know, "Sand Beige" by Urban Decay could be 4 tones lighter than "Sand Beige" by NARS.
So then they enter your code into the computer and it kicks out ALL THE FOUNDATIONS they have at Sephora that match your *color code*,
so NO guessing is involved. That is your color. Legit.
I am going there straight away to get this done. I really want to try that Marc Jacobs cosmetics Foundation. 100% only because I love Marc Jacobs.
AND so I don't end up looking like Catherine Zeta with her blotchy self.
Female Celebrity Style: Celia Cruz
'
As Celia would say "My English not very good."
Happy Monday!
I was presently surprised to find that google is honoring the late salsa singer Celia Cruz. She is problay most known for her most famous song Azucar Negra (black sugar). Aside from her dazzling personality and voice when I think of Celia, the Cuban diva signature elaborate customs stand out to the most. Take a look for yourselves.
Celia was know for her signature head pieces. In many ways her style reminded me of the r&b group LaBelle.
