Naked 1 vs. Naked 2 vs. Naked 3

No, this post is not about a succession of porn films...

If you are a *MAKEUP FREAKOUT* like me, you are SO EXCITED about the Urban Decay Nakeds 3 palette.
As a lifelong fan of Urban Decay cosmetics, the company started coming out with these "Naked" palettes JUST AROUND the time where I started to want some *actual neutral* eyeshadows and not ONLY eyeshadows like Urban Decay's Graffiti:
Not that there's anything wrong with a bright sea green....

But the versatility and beauty of these Naked Palettes is undeniable. OMG, I love the textures, and the finishes and the pigmentation of Urban Decay shadows. So gorgeous and beautiful.

So let's look at ALL THREE!!!

1. The *Original* Naked Palette

BOOM! The OG!! The palette is very GOLDEN in tone.

I love this collection. The tones of these shadows really work for my skin, I really didn't think they could do any better than this.
It's funny, because before this came out, I had "Half Baked" and "Smog" as singles anyway, and was looking for more colors in the same family! and here it is AUNTIE, MAMA, BABY, AND GRAMPS, ALL IN ONE LITTLE HOUSE.

Look at the beautiful eyeshadow masterpieces you can make with this.
 Shiny, gorgeous neutral eye.

When the Naked palette first came out, tons of beauty bloggers and makeup artists literally orgasmed in unison making thousands of tutorials, and HONESTLY THEY WERE ALL FANTASTIC.

This would be a great New Year's Eve look. Smokey and Dramatic!

I love this bright pretty wide awake look!

But then Urban Decay said "NO! THIS PERFECTION IS NOT ENOUGH!" and much like God and the Apple company, they brought us this next gift, which we now question how we could have lived without...

2. THE NAKEDS 2 PALETTE!!!

When this came out I wept tears of joy, and it was around Mother's Day, so I drove 10000 mph to Sephora and bought it for myself straight away, afterwards thanking my family for getting me the generous gift of a $50 makeup palette.
This palette is more taupe-y/grey-y in tone than the OG Naked set. I LOVED the addition of the flat matte black "Blackout" which I use every single day to seal my liquid liner, it's great on the waterline, it's awesome to deepen a cut-crease. It's a great tool.

Also, "Booty Call" + "Tease" is my go-to *no makeup makeup* for a defined eye without dramatics.

But my hands down favs from this set are "Suspect" and "YDK" which are great *on the lid* colors, brighten and define my dark brown eyes, and with smudgey espresso liner all around can look punk, and with a flick of black liquid liner can look very pin-up.

Here are some of the fantastic pro looks my MUA loves have made from Naked 2:

To me this is a great day-to-day eye. BUT i have a hard time with the silvery grey on my lids. That color is not my jammm. makes me look a bit dead. But on her! Ohh LA LA!!

This is more of my Naked 2 look, below. I don't really use the VERY silvery grey "Verve" and mid-grey shimmer "Pistol" at all. But all of the others.... A MILLION TIMES YES.
This is so pretty, and *brows on point*

So then.... JUST TO MAKE SURE MY CREDIT CARD FULLY MAXES OUT THIS HOLIDAY SEASON.... They came out with the latest incarnation!!!

3. The Nakeds 3 !!!!

My makeup artist friends are going nuts over this.
They are saying that it is more *rose-y* in tone than the two previous Naked palettes. Which is nice and very flattering for several skintones. I love a rose-gold eye on ANY depth of complexion!

I haven't gotten to play with this set yet. But this "Nooner" shade looks like the perfect lid-crease contour shade, and the "Buzz" interests me GREATLY, since I've been known to wear high shine shades of blush on my eyes as shadow.

I love pink tones on the eyes. I know that some people relate pink on the eyes to DISEASE, AND CRYING AND RABBITS, but I think it's really pretty. It is really great on a dark brown eye, as seen below, what a gorgeous look!!

But also, a pink toned shadow would make a blue eye POP as well, SEE!!?

I think the key is to anchor it with a good liner. Like this FREAKING ARTISAN DID BELOW.
 This is so gorgeous.

So yes, I will be getting the Naked 3 Palette ASAP STAT. I love it and I also love the fact that there's a cosmetics company that can speak to and make products that reach to the ENTIRE SPECTRUM OF WOMEN WORLDWIDE!! I mean that is PRETTY AWESOME!!

High Fives, Urban Decay!!
