Got the Hair back to Curly **IT'S A XMAS MIRACLE**
As many of you may remember it took 2 professional hairstylists three, 4 hour sessions to get my hair this straight. to me this is like making Johnny Weir go straight.
Just let them be the way they are intended. hahhaha.
There were solutions applied, giant rollers put in, inches of hair cut off, color put in, hours under dryers, brushing and combing and wrapping. and I just didn't love it.
I've had my hair straight like this for about 2 weeks. Every single day, I wake up and think, "what the hell do I do with this hair?"
When my hair was curly I had a very set pattern of events. The day i washed it, i would dry it in pin-curls and then over the course of 3/4 days it would evolve in volume and dreadlockyness into this post-coital mass that was unchained and wild and tangled like jungle flora. And I loved it.
So today I thought "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I have to be me again." and even though my hair is much shorter I needed to figure out a way to tease the curl into it.
I washed it with baby shampoo and that amazing Kiehl's olive oil conditioner.Combed it out and applied the HOLY TRIFECTA of HAIR PRODUCTS:
- Bumble & Bumble Styling Cream
- Bumble & Bumble Thickening Spray
- Bumble & Bumble Texture Cream
Dried it with a diffuser and pin-curled it **crossing my fingers** hoping it wouldn't just fall straight into some Nebraska wheat-field of flatness.

The 1980s Leopard Print Denim Suit (holy grail thrift find)
M and I had some errands to run... Getting stocking stuffers and Goldfish, you know, the usual. We just happened to be passing my fav Thrift/Vintage Spot, and of course I had to go in. Upon arrival this amazing ALL DENIM TWO-PIECE 1980S LEOPARD PRINT SUIT WITH GIANT SHOULDER PADS caught my eye. It was like seeing a unicorn, a gnome, a magical fairy. The suit glowed with it's unique deliciousness. Nearly fainting from the shock of my find I ran to the dressing room to get this thing on.
I am a little bit obsessed with Sharon Stone in "Casino" as some of you may know. Whenever I find a suit like this it reminds me of her. Here's my best bitchy 1980s "Ginger" from "Casino" face. Are you kidding me with the shoulder pads? They're fit for a linebacker. ahhahahha!Check out Sharon/Ginger. omg. if I ever found a **leather suit** like this i would have a seizure.
The legs on these pants are sooooooooooo TIGHT. omg. And there is NO stretch in the material. This is straight up gangsta denim. I had to do this crazy dance to shimmy them on. And getting them over my ankles took about 10 minutes (no ankle zip). But once all the hard work was over, THIS IS THE RESULT. I could probably prowl the 80s savannas of Africa and gazelles would run away from me. After this photo was taken, I really didn't know if I could get them off. I almost asked for help. But after laying on the ground and gyrating like a hooked worm, i wiggled out of them.
Even though, i know i would NEVER wear this thing I want it so bad. Almost to just put on display. It's so ridiculous. I can't stand it.

Do They Know It's Christmas Time At All
Christmas cheesiness makes me feel strange. I don't know what it is about it, but I walk into the whole Christmas themed Gala, complete with decorated table settings and music and organized games, and I feel nauseated. Maybe I feel like a fraud? I don't know. I have children, and I love them and spoil the snot out of them for Christmas, but all of the pomp and circumstance makes me uneasy on the adult side. It's like I almost feel in my heart that Christmas should be treated like Halloween and at some point you just decide to leave the dressing up for the kids. All about the kids. I don't want to sing a christmas carol in public with people I don't know. I don't want to be required to participate in a table-read of the 12 Days of Christmas with 75 other people.
I feel like this makes me seem like a scrooge or a party pooper, or some kind of hipster "I'm too cool." but it's not that at all (or maybe it is). If Christmas really does mean something, shouldn't it be spending time with people you love the company of and having a great time? I had my best friend who lives in Pennsylvania over today and I was elated to sit around and chat and drink whisky and eat cookies with her for the afternoon. That is Christmas to me.
I think it's the "traditions" that make me uneasy, and the insistence of people above the age of 15 making a big deal out of it. My 4 year old 100% decorated or Christmas tree and house, and she HAD THE BEST TIME DOING IT. and she's so damn proud of herself. I can't imagine saying, "oh no, we must have all Restoration Hardware crystal ornaments and a perfect blue spruce." I think that is so strange. Why do people care?
The street we live on is very unique. It's a tight knit group. People live here by the GENERATION. Houses are HANDED DOWN. Sometimes I don't know how to react to this. Tonight everyone got together and dotted the lane with these Luminaires. After that, we all gathered and had a massive Christmas party. As much as I try to resist, after the party I walked down the road and thought, "I've never seen anything more beautiful."
