90s Throwback

Today is Sunday and the rainy weather calls for us to just relax. Yesterday while on YouTube I got into the mode to just ;listen to the soft rock music that artist like Vanessa Williams and Jim Brickman made. Even though I was a kid it reminds me of how different today's ,music is and I kinda prefer the 90s soft rock. Here are some through back jams. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Fanny Pack Necklace = Tres Chic

It's nice to have what you need at your fingertips...
But it's EXTRA NICE to have what you need around your neck.
When you wear a fanny pack at your waist that is just too far away, especially if you're carrying snacks, you just want the snacks RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE, like a human feed bag of sorts, so you don't *even need to think* about where your Cheetos are.

This is not just a great look. It's just good planning.

Elizabeth Taylor Wedding Gowns

Happy Saturday!

As I stumble across an article that highlight the beautiful gowns of one the most glamourous women in Hollywood the late Elizabeth Taylor...I thought I would share. Maybe this could be inspiration for my soon to be brides who have a summer or fall wedding approaching. Considentally enough my mother shares the same birth day as Ms. Taylor and equally as beautiful might I add. Here are a few of her 7 wedding gowns that are up for auction what do you think?

Novelty Brooch Friday #2 *Pearls*

Oooooh, I am so into *Novelty Brooch Friday*!!

This week I made a brooch out of a yellow/orange faux pearl bracelet that had had better days... It was pretty beat up. Looked kind of similar to this one:
The "pearls" were mounted on this springy wire. It was pretty easy to dismantle and form into a kind of flowery shape:

And then hot-glue the snot out of it, and insert a "brooch back" pin, which I bought at JoAnn Fabrics.

I then flipped it over and spray-painted it gold to hide the glue:

Voila!!
I love how the pearls spun on the wires so that some are still orange and yellow on the back. The metal bars are the pieces that kept the bracelet neatly in it's 3 rows before, but I thought they looked kind of cool and added interest, so I kept them there:

Ready to ROCK N ROLL, NOVELTY BROOCH FRIDAY STYLE!!
to join the fun; tag a photo with you and your favorite novelty brooch with #noveltybroochfriday on Instagram! It's so fun to look at them all, there are people all over the world doing it, men women children, it's really really cool. follow me on Instagram @readydressedgo

I love Tom Ford.

Just look at him.
Master Designer... Super gorgeous... Takes 4 baths a day...

He created these shoes:
The first pair of shoes in my adult-life that I have had a hard time walking in.

I pride myself as an expert stiletto trotter. I can put on ANY HEIGHT heels and JUST GO!
But these I felt like I was en pointe.

It was an incredible thrill actually.
I love these shoes, you can buy them in gold:
On ebay here (click here!) for only $2,803.99 might as well buy two pairs

*the pair I tried on were only $145*

The Hills Are Back.. Kind Off

I just got news MTV will air an alternative ending of the wildey popular reality show The Hills starting July 8. The weird part about this is I never watched the Hills or Laguna Beach until last summer. I caught the marathon and got into the show mainly because I was infatuated the these rich young people pretending to have problems. Ha ha.

Anyway I will admit one of my favorite cast members is Lauren Conrad but not because of the show. I admire her because she's proven herself to be a savvy business woman. Conrad  launched a successful clothing line, is a best selling author and recently purchase a 3.4 million dollar home for herself. Not bad for a 27 year old. That's is for this post. Have a great day!!

Book Review: The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay

Synopsis: I live in a world without magic or miracles. A place where there are no clairvoyants or
shapeshifters, no angels or superhuman boys to save you. A place where people die and music disintegrates and things suck. I am pressed so hard against the earth by the weight of reality that some days I wonder how I am still able to lift my feet to walk.

Pages: 448

Rating: 10/10

The long and short of it: Don't let the possibly misleading title put you off, because this is a stunning book about lost and broken souls relearning how to love again. A definite new favourite!

A Healthy Girls Guide To A Quick Dinnner

When your working the last thing on your mind is preparing dinner. Here's a quick and Easy & Healthy Shrimp Scampi recipe posted by Curt from pinterest.. This looks super good so I thought I would share. Enjoy!!

Here's what you'll need:

Ingredients
4 tsp olive oil
1 1/4 pounds med raw shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails left on)
6-8 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
1/2 cup dry white wine
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup + 1 T minced parsley
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
4 lemon wedges

Preparation
In a large nonstick skillet, heat the oil. Saute the shrimp until just pink, about 2-3 minutes. Add the garlic and cook stirring constantly, about 30 seconds. With a slotted spoon transfer the shrimp to a platter and keep them warm.
In the skillet, combine the broth, wine, lemon juice, 1/4 cup of the parsley, the salt and pepper; and bring it to a boil. Boil uncovered, until the sauce is reduced by half.
Spoon the sauce over the shrimp. Serve garnished with the lemon wedges and sprinkled with the remaining tablespoon of parsley.
Makes 4 servings

Eye-Candy Tuesday: Sexy Men with and without chest hair

omg. This sweater is made from Human Male Chest Hair. I kid you not.

It's kind of hilarious that the guy that's wearing has no visible chest hair.

Which sparks the debate that is as old as time: Are you PRO Chest Hair or CON Chest Hair?

I personally like my men on the sassy side, a bit natural and a smidge removed from being in a loin-cloth hanging from vines, hence Stonewash.

Also on the PRO side are:

Magnum P.I.

& Wolverine

I think they provide a strong arguement. Both exude MAYJOR manliness, and animal appeal.

For the CON side we have:

Alcide

& Marky Mark

Gosh this is a difficult decision... I better look at these photos again and again and again... WHO AM I KIDDING!! EVERYONE WINS!

Vintage Smackdown

Out this weekend, i just felt the need to check the Sal and see if there was anything new since the last time I went, which was 2 days ago.

I saw this *SUPER-BANGIN* vintage cruiser, which I WILL BUY if it's there tomorrow. I just need high-waist flares and a crop-halter to go with this ride.

There were some AWESOME new things, including this amazing belted polyester 70s shirt that had this awesome "jeans" print. I love the stripes, so rad.

Found this beaut. It's sitting on my bed for tailoring at the moment. I think it may have been a Men's Shirt, since the torso was ultra boxy. But I will bring in the seaming to fit my hourglass physique *oh don't you know it*

And then LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST.... I saw this freaking AHMAZING FIND! It was on the rack of new things that the lady was putting on the racks, I PLUCKED IT OFF LIKE A GOLDEN APPLE, and held it to the sky like baby Simba!!
Are you kidding me!? It's bright lime green satin with this gorgeous key-hole neck and a rhinestone button at the top. The sleeve cuffs are marabou feathers!!!!! The silhouette is a trapeze, like this below:
I folded it and held it to my body, because I just can't do that shape. But I would be GORGEOUS on someone else! OMG! I love it so much!

It reminds me of something that Julianne Moore's character in "A Single Man" would have worn.
omg, i think i have to go back and get it.

Reality TV: Orange County

Happy Monday!!

I've been so busy that I finally had the time to get caught up on one of my favorite reality t.v shows; The Real House Wives of Orange County. They are approaching 100th episode after eight years!! Can you believe The Real House Wives Franchise is nearly a decade old? Time does fly.. Are you guys fans of the Real House Wives franchise? If so which cast is your favorite. Interesting enough, I could never get into the Real House Wives of Dc.

I'm gonna be a Trophy Girl

So my modeling agency just offered me the job of *TROPHY GIRL* for the NHRA race at Norwalk, Ohio!!

**ERRRRRRTTTTT!!!!!** GO CARS GO!!

Maybe they misread my information and thought I was 23 and not 33... But what the hey, I totally want to wear the stuff that Trophy Girls wore in the 60s 70s and 80s.

Are you kidding me? I love this outfit! Turtleneck mini dress with hot pants and go go boots? Sure!

I don't even quite know what is going on outfit-wise here, but it just looks hilariously amaze.

Here is the same chick off duty. Who needs a bra anyways? LOL

This may be my favorite photo of any sort of all time. The chicks hair, the dress, the dude's expression, HIS JEANS. omfg.

Oh sorry... I retract my last statement... THIS is the best photo of all time. Where can I get this bikini with built in belly-shoelace?

This girl's hair. YAS! so good.

All joking aside. I love this pin-up/glamour girl vibe.

But this is sadly not how it is in 2013. Nowadays, Trophy Girls are kind of like an *Anime-Porn Star* in some sort of Race Car Fetishista Get-Up.

I believe fake Ta's are required. I don't have em.

It's a very subservient look, with simple goals... Show the boobs, show the butt, smile, and have long hair.

So obviously I'm not doing it. But it was SURE FLATTERING to be asked!
*pats myself on the back, hahha*
